Designing an Organizational Culture Model for Malek Ashtar University of Technology Based on Technological Megatrends

Abstract
Abstract
Background & Purpose: Given the rapid technological developments and their impact on the structure and educational institutions, aligning the organizational culture of universities with technological megatrends is essential. Accordingly, this research focuses on designing an organizational culture model for Malek Ashtar University of Technology based on these major technological trends.
Methodology: This research is applied–developmental in nature and employs a mixed (qualitative–quantitative) approach. In the qualitative phase, technological megatrends of Malek Ashtar University of Technology were identified and prioritized using the Delphi method. Based on grounded theory (Glaser and Strauss) and semi-structured interviews with 15 experts, the initial conceptual model was extracted through open, axial, and selective coding. In the quantitative phase, a researcher-made questionnaire with verified validity and reliability was administered to 59 participants. Data were analyzed using exploratory factor analysis and structural equation modeling.
Findings: The organizational culture of the university based on technological megatrends can be categorized into five key conceptual domains: innovative and learning-oriented leadership, technological adaptability and foresight, organizational cohesion and technological security, technological and strategic mission, and interdisciplinary and team-based participation. Each domain comprises components that systematically depict the essential dimensions for shaping a transformative technological organizational culture in scientific and technical universities. The proposed model demonstrated an acceptable fit in structural equation modeling.
Conclusion: The proposed organizational culture model provides a comprehensive framework grounded in the organizational and technological realities of Malek Ashtar University of Technology. In alignment with technological megatrends, it can facilitate sustainable transformation, systematic innovation, and intelligent organizational adaptation.
