Conceptual Model of Entrepreneurs' Competencies in Iranian International Businesses

Abstract
Background & Purpose: International businesses play an important role in the economy and management of countries and identifying the competencies needed by entrepreneurs active in this field can be effective in the development of this type of business. In this regard, this study was conducted to develop a conceptual model of entrepreneurial competencies in international business in Iran.
Methodology: This research is exploratory in terms of purpose and applied research in terms of the type of use, and qualitative research method and content analysis strategy were used in it. Data were collected using non-probability sampling method (targeted/available) and semi-structured interviews with 18 experts in the field of competence and entrepreneurship.
Findings: Based on the analysis of research data, the competencies of entrepreneurs in Iranian international businesses were classified into seven categories:strategic competencies, opportunity-oriented, communication, intercultural, individual, specialized, managerial and 77 sub-factors.
Conclusion: This model can be an important basis for attracting, developing and retaining entrepreneurs in businesses operating in the international arena. Effective use of this model will lead to the success of these individuals and organizations.
