Model of Knowledge Hoarding Management Solutions in Production Industry

Abstract
Background & Purpose: Considering the importance of knowledge sharing, several concepts have been proposed regarding it, which are similar to it and different from it in some ways. Hoarding of knowledge is one of these distinct concepts. Based on this, in the present research, the model of knowledge hoarding management solutions in the automotive industry is presented.
Methodology: This study is an applied research that has been done with a qualitative method. In the qualitative part, the thematic analysis strategy was used. Semi-structured interview were used to collect data. Interviews with 22 experts were conducted in a snowball fashion until the theoretical saturation stage.
Findings: Based on the analysis of research data, three categories of individual strategies with subcategories of direct communication between senior managers and subordinates, informing the public, increasing the depth and amount of communication, organizing communication between organizational units and using appropriate communication software, communication solutions with the subcategories of encouraging employees, employee satisfaction, incentive policies Making people aware of the benefits of knowledge sharing and psychological courses related to hoarding disorder, and finally organizational solutions with the subcategories of teamwork and collective benefits, human resource excellence programs, constant monitoring and control of hoarders, shaping a common culture over time, managing knowledge channels and warehouses, The selection and organization of human resources and the modification of organizational processes were identified.
Conclusion: The first step in the success of knowledge management projects includes accurate identification of concepts and vocabulary. Hoarding of knowledge is one of the terms that must be accurately distinguished from other concepts and appropriate strategies for its optimal management should be developed based on that. The solutions of this research will provide the context to reduce this behavioral problem in knowledge management.
