Abstract
Background & Purpose: Supply chain, as a set of activities, resources and information, plays a vital role in the production, supply and distribution of products or services for organizations. The technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution have played an effective role in the transformation of the traditional structures of these chains, and the defense supply chain is not isolated from the competitive environment and complex and changing environmental conditions. The aim of this article is to examine the role of digital platforms in the defense supply chain by identifying the requirements, drivers, obstacles and challenges and consequences of using digital platforms.
Methodology: The present research is of an exploratory-developmental type and a qualitative approach was conducted with a grounded theory analysis method. The statistical population of the research includes research from reputable domestic and foreign scientific databases related to the research field, experts and staff and academic specialists in the field of defense supply chain, information technology and digital platforms, of whom 8 people were selected through purposive sampling. The data collection tool is also structured interviews.
Findings: Research data analysis showed that the use of digital platforms improves transparency, speed, quality of services and reduces costs in the defense supply chain. Digitalization of defense supply chain processes requires strengthening organizational culture, improving human resource skills along with allocating financial resources and addressing the challenges of deploying local infrastructure.
Conclusion: In order to benefit from digital platform technology in the defense supply chain, it will be very effective to consider the requirements , drivers , and removing obstacles and challenges, which will lead to constructive consequences.
